CS:GO recently had an update that was released on May 5th. The new update includes icons for blind kills and also some tremendous changes in the chlorine map. However, this update is also causing a headache for the fans as they are having a hard time joining official matchmaking servers.
CS:GO Shows a Pure Server Error
According to the reports, CS:GO is crashing and shows a Pure Server Error. This issue is taking place because a line in the patch of the new update said that Sv_ pure servers will kick out players if they have loaded asset files in the game memory from files that are not on the server filesystem.
The players are being kicked out from matchmaking and this is hurting their rank. Now, you don’t need to worry because we might have a temporary solution to fix your problem. A user on Twitter named Gabe Follower posted a solution on his timeline regarding this issue. He quoted in his tweet that all these folders must be deleted to verify the integrity of your game files. The folder list includes shaders, materials, models, sounds, scripts, and particles folders.
What you have to do
- First, close the Steam client.
- Second, go to C:\Program files(x86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo)
- Now, delete the folders which are mentioned above. To play it safe just save the folders on your desktop.
- In the steam library, verify the integrity of the game files by going to the properties and then local files.
We are very hopeful that this will stop the disconnection error. Moreover, this is only a temporary solution and you will have to do this procedure every time you want to join the official servers.
If this doesn’t work you can always mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) Valve about your issue. This should be your subject line when writing the mail “sv_pure kick”. Valve has not said anything about this issue but we expect that they will soon resolve this issue for good.
